Why True Form

Built right.
Finished sharp.
Backed in writing.

Concrete is the most permanent investment you'll make to your home outside the roof. We pour it like it matters — because it does. Four things every True Form job comes with, every time.

Proper Site Prep

Every job starts with grading, compacting, and a clean sub-base. Cutting corners here is why other people's concrete cracks.

4,000 PSI Standard

Most local contractors pour 3,000 PSI. We use a 4,000 PSI mix with fiber reinforcement on every flatwork pour. Built for Missouri freeze-thaw cycles.

Saw-Cut Control Joints

Joints are cut on schedule — 8 to 18 hours after pour, never improvised. That's the difference between hairline cracks at joints (planned) versus across the slab (failure).

2-Year Warranty

Workmanship warranty in writing on every pour. If a joint moves, a corner spalls, or a finish fails because of our install — we come back and fix it. No charge.

A few of the recent projects we've poured across St. Charles County. Full reviews on Google & Facebook.

“Replaced our old cracked driveway with a new 4" pour, broom finish. Crew was on time both days, cleaned up everything, and the saw cuts the next morning were perfect. Looks like a different house.”

“Backyard patio, 14×20, broom finish with a copper-tone integral color. Estimate was quick, written, and matched what we paid. Quality of the pour and edges is night-and-day better than two other contractors I'd looked at.”

“Stamped concrete patio with a slate pattern. Looks like real flagstone. We had quotes for pavers that were double the price and they would've needed re-leveling every few years. Couldn't be happier.”

Our story

Locally Owned.
Built For St. Charles.

True Form Concrete was founded by the same owner behind one of the St. Louis area's most-reviewed roofing companies. The idea was simple: take the same standard of work — owner on every job, no subcontractors, written warranty, real materials — and apply it to the concrete around your home.

Most concrete contractors in this area pour 3,000 PSI on a thin sub-base and rely on luck to keep cracks under control. We do the opposite. Every pour gets proper grading, a 4,000 PSI mix with fiber reinforcement, saw-cut control joints on a clock, and a finish that's hand-checked before we leave.

Frequently Asked

Concrete Questions,
Straight Answers.

The most common questions St. Charles County homeowners ask before we pour. Call (314) 761-6477 if yours isn't here.

How much does a new concrete patio cost in St. Charles?+

A standard broom-finish patio in St. Charles County typically runs $8–$14 per square foot, so a 14×20 patio (280 sq ft) lands around $2,800–$4,200 installed. Stamped concrete runs $14–$22 per square foot. Decorative integral color adds about $1.50–$2.50 per square foot. Every quote is written, itemized, and includes site prep, materials, labor, joint cuts, and clean-up.

How long does new concrete take to cure?+

You can walk on new concrete in 24–48 hours. Driveways and patios should stay off vehicle traffic for 7 days. Full cure strength is reached at 28 days, but the slab is structurally sound and usable well before that. We provide a written care sheet at the end of every project covering cure-time do's and don'ts.

Can you pour concrete in winter in Missouri?+

Yes, with the right precautions. We pour year-round in St. Charles County above 25°F using heated mixes, accelerators, and insulated blankets to protect green concrete from freezing in the first 24–48 hours. We don't recommend cosmetic stamped or decorative work below 40°F, but flatwork pours fine. Spring and fall are still the best windows for finish quality.

Stamped concrete vs. pavers — which is better?+

Stamped concrete typically costs 30–50% less than equivalent paver work, installs faster, and doesn't need re-leveling, sand replacement, or weed control between joints. Pavers can be lifted and replaced individually if damaged, where stamped concrete needs full-slab repair. For most St. Charles homeowners, stamped concrete is the better long-term value — same look, fewer maintenance headaches.

How thick should my concrete driveway be?+

Standard residential driveways are poured at 4" thickness. If you have a heavy vehicle (RV, boat, dual-wheel truck) we recommend 5–6". Apron sections at the curb cut should always be at least 6". We use a 4,000 PSI mix with fiber reinforcement as our standard; this exceeds the typical 3,000 PSI most contractors pour and significantly reduces freeze-thaw cracking.

Why does concrete crack — and what does your warranty cover?+

Concrete cracks for three reasons: shrinkage during cure (normal, controlled with saw-cut joints), settlement (caused by poor sub-base prep), or impact/overload. Our 2-year workmanship warranty covers cracks caused by our install — improper joint spacing, sub-base failure, finish failures. Hairline cracks at control joints are by design, not a defect. We walk you through what to expect at the final hand-off.

Do you handle permits and utility locates?+

Yes. We pull all required permits in St. Charles, O'Fallon, St. Peters, Wentzville, and the surrounding municipalities. Missouri One Call (utility locate) is scheduled before every excavation. No surprises, no extra fees — it's built into your quote.

Are you licensed and insured?+

Yes. Fully licensed in the State of Missouri, carrying general liability insurance, and workers comp on every crew member. Certificates of insurance are provided with every estimate. We're an in-house operation — no subcontractors handling your project.
